Colin Raby joined NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center as a systems engineering and project management intern.

At Marshall he supported the International Space Station program at the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) and the creation of the command and control room for Artemis III, an introduction to how very large, very high-stakes technical programs are actually run.Systems engineering is the discipline of making complicated things work together. It turns out to be excellent training for building AI products.

The summer cemented an engineering habit that carries through his later work: decompose the problem, define the interfaces, test everything.
