Captains LSU to a second straight AAEA Academic Bowl national championship
As team captain, Raby leads LSU, with Benjamin Goldstein and Riley LaSavia, to a second straight national championship at the 2024 AAEA Academic Bowl in New Orleans.
NEW ORLEANS · For the second year in a row, LSU won the Academic Bowl. Colin Raby captained the team, with Benjamin Goldstein and Riley LaSavia, as it won the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association's 2024 Academic Bowl at the association's annual meeting in New Orleans. A second LSU team took second place, the second year in a row that LSU swept the top two spots against dozens of universities.
Having competed the year before, Raby used that experience to help prepare a new team for the tournament. "While this year's path to championship wasn't quite as heart-pounding as last year's nail-biter against Clemson," he wrote afterward, "it was a well-fought and fun time nonetheless." The team was coached by Prof. Penn.
