WASHINGTON · Raby came to Washington through the Fund for American Studies' Public Policy & Economics program and joined the office of Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi as one of the first AI specialists to work in the U.S. House of Representatives.
He worked on artificial intelligence policy and on putting AI tools to work inside a congressional office, supporting the House Select Committee on the CCP alongside the congressman's work on science, technology and commerce.The broader story of AI arriving on the Hill was covered by Bloomberg Government in November 2024.
Raby described the role as a dual mandate: to evaluate and improve congressional systems and workflows with artificial intelligence, making them more effective, efficient and transparent; and to advise on policy for AI and other emerging technologies under discussion across multiple congressional committees.
