In the spring of 2018, Colin Raby led Troop 50 of University Methodist Church in Baton Rouge as its Senior Patrol Leader (the Scout elected to run the troop) at the Sewell-Eagle District Boy Scouts Camporee.

The troop was named the camporee's Most Outstanding Troop, and won a record number of the individual events for a single troop.

That fall, the Military Order of the World Wars' Baton Rouge chapter would recognize his leadership and coaching of Troop 50's Scouts with its Bronze Patrick Henry Medallion.
