Presents “The Intelligence Age” to community advisory panels across Louisiana
In a series of talks to Community Advisory Panels across Louisiana, Colin Raby covers the history of disruptive technology and how local organizations can put AI to good use.
From August 2023 through May 2024, Colin Raby traveled to Community Advisory Panel (CAP) meetings across Louisiana to present "The Intelligence Age," a talk on the history of disruptive technological innovation and what it means for the communities living through the next one. Each talk closed on the practical question: how local organizations can use AI to their advantage.
On Nov. 15, 2023, Raby presented to the St. Charles Community Advisory Panel alongside teammates Cody Flurry and Jackson Joyce, on the recommendation of Henry Hays. They walked community leaders through how AI is reshaping industries and offered hands-on strategies for putting it to work, and the discussion carried on well after the talk.
The title was Raby's argument, which he also made in a letter to The Reveille in November 2023: the world is entering a fourth industrial revolution, the Intelligence Age. When OpenAI's Sam Altman published an essay under the same title in September 2024, Raby noted he had been making the case for more than a year.
