Elected to Senior Homecoming Court (Part 2)
Named to LSU's 2023 Senior Homecoming Court as one of three senior men in the running for Homecoming King, and a rare engineering student among them.

BATON ROUGE, La. · Colin Raby, a senior in mechanical engineering with a minor in aerospace engineering, was named to LSU's 2023 Senior Homecoming Court, one of three senior men in the running for Homecoming King, returning to the court three years after he first served on it as a sophomore.
It had been some time since an engineering student was named to the court. Raby had spent three years as a Student Senate representative for the College of Engineering, was active in Bengal Robotics and the Society of Peer Mentors, and had interned at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and with Enercon."No matter where you come from or where you start, what matters most is where you are going," he wrote when the court was announced, "and the opportunities this university offers can take you as far as you can dream."
LSU announced the 14-member court on Oct. 6. Homecoming week, the university's 98th, culminated on Oct. 21, 2023, with the court luncheon, a walk down Victory Hill, and the presentation of the court at halftime of LSU's game against Army in Tiger Stadium.
Afterward, he marked it on Instagram with a few lines of verse ("Humbled and honored, on this court I stand, / In LSU's colors, with friends hand in hand") and what he believes the court should stand for: initiative, servant leadership and an optimistic spirit.
