Raby spoke to DC Legal Hackers, the capital's community of lawyers and technologists, at a meetup hosted by the Sunwater Institute. As one of the first people to hold the role, he explained what a congressional AI specialist does, and how technology, especially AI-driven automation, is changing how government operates.

"It was inspiring to explore the diverse and impactful ways technology is modernizing government systems and processes," wrote organizer Nathaniel Burola. Raby followed up on ways similar automations could serve other government departments, and on a future of modernization focused on "how government can do the most good for the people it serves."
