Context

The Student Senate passed Student Government's fiscal 2023 budget of $127,694 across the executive, legislative and judicial branches, with 40 in favor, two against and four abstaining.

Raby, chair of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, explained how it was built: "things that we're forced to do because of the code, things that historically we've done that have worked, and then what the current needs are." One new line followed from that year's election reforms: $1,000 for the Election Board to promote elections with neutral signs around campus: "outreach saying, 'hey there's an election' that doesn't have a ticket's name right on it."
